Sapori del Garda: Lugana and Valtènesi wine tasting in the heart of Sirmione

Sapori del Garda ("Flavours of Garda") is the wine tasting festival created and organised by Talent Kitchen in the historic centre of Sirmione, together with the Municipality of Sirmione, the Lugana DOC Consortium and the Valtènesi Consortium. Three days between December 2024 and January 2025, three stands in the most beautiful squares of the old town and over 50 wines from Lugana, Valtènesi and Riviera del Garda Classico, presented by the people who make them.

The stands were in Piazza Castello, at the foot of the Scaliger Castle, in Piazza Carducci and in Piazza Flaminia, overlooking the lake: a wine walk through the heart of Sirmione.
How it worked
At the Piazza Castello stand guests collected a glass and pouch and chose their tasting trail:
- €25: 9 wines and 3 food pairings (residents €15)
- €15: 6 wines and 2 pairings (residents €10)
- €10: 3 wines, the most popular option
Sirmione residents paid a reduced price on showing ID. A €5 deposit was charged for the glass and pouch and refunded at the end.
The wineries
Each day featured a different selection of wineries across the three squares: Lugana DOC from the lake shore, Valtènesi and Riviera del Garda Classico (Chiaretto, Groppello, reds and sparkling wines) from the Brescia side of the lake.
