Bardolino and Colli Mantovani wine tasting in Sirmione
Bardolino and Colli Mantovani wine tasting
An evening dedicated to the wines of the Verona and Mantua shores of Lake Garda, from Bardolino to the Colli Mantovani: rosé, whites and a Moscato, with a blind tasting. Led by Adele Gorni Silvestrini, Food & Wine marketing consultant, with pan pizza, cured meats and bread at the long table of Talent Kitchen in Sirmione.
Some of the wines we tasted
- Giovanna Tantini – Rosé
- Le Fraghe – “Traccia di Rosa”
- Corte Gardoni – “Pràdicà” 2020
- Cantina Gozzi – “Le Falme” 2021, Moscato Giallo
The Mantua moraine hills: a “taste of the world”
Alongside Bardolino we presented a little-known appellation: Garda Colli Mantovani, created in 1976 and spread over six villages – Ponti sul Mincio, Monzambano, Volta Mantovana, Cavriana, Solferino and Castiglione delle Stiviere. In numbers: about 400 hectares of vineyards, 25 wineries and one million bottles.
How it went
Everyone at one long table, with glasses and a tasting sheet. For each wine the story of the winery and the land, then the tasting. One wine was served blind, with the bottle covered, to guess it from the glass.
The pairing
Santa pan pizza, boards of cured meats – mortadella, salami, prosciutto crudo – bread, olives and taralli.
