Description

Valtènesi Rosa: a new, more rigorous interpretation of a unique wine tradition of the Brescian shore of Lake Garda, centred on the Groppello grape. A true wine of its territory, born of an ancient vocation codified more than a hundred years ago by the Venetian senator Pompeo Molmenti.

A few hours of contact between must and skins, followed by the ritual of night-time racking. In that precise moment, guided by the cellar master's skill, the Valtènesi takes on the freshness and temperament of the Groppello berries that define its character. It is a wine that embodies centuries of tradition, the strength of a unique terroir and the elegance of rosé winemaking.

Area of origin: Valtènesi, the Soffaino hills in the area known as “Preafète”

Grape variety: Groppello (predominant share), the native grape of the Valtènesi, with Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese

Harvest: By hand into small crates.

Production: Known as “the one-night wine” because, historically, it was left in contact with its skins for one night to obtain its characteristic pink colour. Two different macerations are carried out and then blended. The first takes place in the press, with soft, low-temperature pressing that ensures aroma and delicacy; the second, in tank, known as “salasso” (bleeding), gives greater structure. The pressures applied are extremely soft and gentle, allowing extraction of the free-run juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to enhance the wine's aromas and finesse. After 4–5 months of ageing on fine lees, the lots are blended and then bottled.
